The essentials

Getting started

Choose a useful format for the details you want to keep.

What can I create with ConnectCover?
Explore car records, van records, learner practice logs and vehicle collection checklists. Each format brings the information you supply into a clear, readable document.
How do I choose the right document?
Start with what you want to organise. Car and van records keep vehicle details and handover notes together. A learner log records practice sessions, while a collection checklist helps you prepare the details and items you need to bring.
What is included in a document?
The contents depend on the format: vehicle details, dated notes, practice entries or checklist items. Each product page explains its purpose and the information it can organise. Check the agreed contents of your order for the exact deliverables.
What information should I have ready?
Gather the vehicle details and the notes relevant to your chosen format. For a handover, this might include condition observations, keys and equipment. For a practice log, keep session dates and the skills you worked on. Only include information you are entitled to share.

A clear starting point

Vehicle details

Find the vehicle and check the information you are working with.

How does the vehicle search work?
Enter the registration on the homepage to request basic vehicle details from our data provider. Check the result against your own information before using it. The search helps identify the vehicle; it does not place an order.
What if the vehicle search cannot find a result?
Check the registration for mistyped letters or numbers and try again. If it still cannot be found, contact the team with the registration and a description of the problem. Do not choose a different vehicle just to continue.
What if the vehicle details look wrong?
Compare the registration, make and model with the records you hold. If there is a mismatch, stop and resolve it before using the details in a document. Include the incorrect result when contacting the team so the issue is clear.
Can I record a vehicle handover?
Car and van records can organise the information supplied for a handover, such as the date, condition notes, keys and equipment. Record observations accurately and check the details with the people involved.

Keep the details useful

Using your documents

Practical answers for records, practice logs and collection checklists.

What should go in a learner practice log?
Record the date, the skills practised and any useful notes for next time. Keep entries specific so you can discuss progress with your supervisor or instructor and decide what to work on next.
What should I check before collecting a vehicle?
Confirm the appointment, location and required documents directly with the organisation holding the vehicle. Use your checklist to keep those requirements and any unanswered questions together before travelling.
Can I share a document with another organisation?
You can share a completed record for its intended purpose. If another organisation needs particular evidence or a specific format, ask what it requires first. A personal record or checklist does not independently verify the information in it.
How do I open and keep a PDF?
Most current phones and computers can open PDF files in a browser or PDF reader. Save a copy somewhere you can find again and give it a recognisable filename. Keep documents containing personal information private and only share them with the intended recipient.

A little guidance

Orders & support

Understand the details of an order and find the right help.

How will I receive my documents?
The delivery method and timing are set out in the details agreed for your order. Keep your confirmation and follow the access instructions supplied with it. If an agreed delivery does not arrive, contact the team with your reference.
Where can I check the price and what it includes?
Check the total price, document contents and any included revisions in the order details before agreeing to a purchase. Any optional extra or additional work should have its price agreed first.
What if I spot a mistake in my document?
Contact the team with your document reference, the detail that needs attention and the correct information. Explain whether something differs from the agreed order or you want to add new information, so the appropriate correction or revision can be discussed.
Where can I find help with my documents?
Start with the Help centre for document guidance or use Contact to find the right enquiry topic. Have your reference and a short explanation ready. For an existing order, you can also use the contact details supplied with it.
